Hello everyone! I have a small issue that has been troubling me for a while now.

(First of all, this is a very complicated question for me to ask, so searching around the forum for this answer got me nowhere.)

When I right-click anywhere on my computer, the drop-down menu opens. The trouble is, when I accidentally click a grayed out or empty space in the menu, the menu immediately closes. This gets annoying, because if I branch out into multiple boxes and click a grayed out item by mistake, I have to go through that process all over again.

What I am asking is... is there any way to modify the drop-down menu so that it stays open until I successfully click a valid option or click outside the menu, much like Windows XP handles the drop-down menu?

Welcome to the Forum. The short answer is Yes. but first have you been into Sys Prefs/Mouse and set up how you want the buttons to operate. Once you have the contextual menu set to preferred mouse button then it should stay open for you with just a single click to allow u to make a choice - like this;
