I'm trying to copy files off my mac to a external hdd and i can't copy a particular file as snow leopard gives me this error:

The operation can't be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -1407). ???

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)
Is the external drive formatted to Macintosh OS extended (journalled)?
(and easy on the profanities.... family friendly forums!)

Presumably if it's just one file out of many, the drive format is not the problem.

But, if the disc is formatted to FAT-32 (MS-DOS) and the file size is over 4Gb, THAT could be an issue.

Does the file open up fine on the Mac itself? I've seen corrupt files give weird error...
