Mac OS 11?

I have been wondering,

Now we are on OS 10 - the X means 10.

So mac OS 11 won't be OS "X"

What would it be called?

Also, what would they do different/Better?

Would they change loads like they did from classic to osx?

What would the computers look like then?

How many years will it be until then?

You have to realize that the Macintosh OS numbering system started with version 1.0.

So the OS versions went from 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, and finally 10.0 (with incremental updates in between the whole numbers).

So it would be no surprise if OS 11.0 was called 11.0...or as "CrimsonRequiem" suggested...OS XI.

Well, I think it should be better than OS X, but it will definitely be 8-10 years ay least before we see OS 11.

I think it will be longer than that. I think it will be 8-10 years before we see 10.9 and I think they'll keep us waiting for at least 3 years while they iron out all the bugs for 11. I think that when 11 comes around the technology that will be involved, or the way its written, or even the technology it will run on are all going to be beyond what we could even imagine now. Although if I was Apple, I might start market research now and draw out a map of exactly we wanted things to go. I would buy it even if it was just an actual rewrite of OS 10.9 but in 2-3 GB of space. Could you imagine how efficient an os would have to be written if it was that small, which would me serious improvements.
