Has anyone used the software Norton Internet Security for Mac and if so, what has been your experience? I am interested in getting a security software program for my new MacBook Pro laptop so that my files are safe from hackers. Please share with me your experiences with this software program and feel free to recommend any others that you think might be helpful.

The previous Norton thread for today.

Exactly what are you trying to protect it from? There are zero viruses in the wild able to infect your Mac. There are a couple of Trojans out there now. So far they're only found in illegal software downloads and from porn sites asking to install additional video codecs. Even with these you have to put in your master password for them to work.

Use the built in firewall if you don't have a router with hardware firewall. All the software out there at this time that will run on your Mac only find Windows viruses, which can't infect your Mac. There really is no need to waste CPU power on that.

If you set up a wireless network use WPA2. You'll be well enough protected.
