I am new to using mac and have recently acquired a Apple G4 that has problems. When starting up i receive the blue screen and am unable to get past this screen. I have the disks however when i reboot and hold down C i get a black screen. I would like to erase the computer and start fresh. However being so new to mac i am not able to figure this out. Please help.

If you have the original install media for the G4 you should be able to hold down the Option key or the C key and boot. Once it boots from the media you can then wipe the hard drive and reinstall the operating system.
That is if everything else is working OK.
