I want to narrow down the available programs to open a file with when I click "Open With"

I get about 37 available, more than 25 of these are various Photoshop things.

Where can I go to deselect about 30 of these options.

on that file, do a get info, in the get info palette, under open with, select photoshop as the default, click change all, and that should cut a few out.

Can all of the applications in the list open the file? If so, then you probably can't do anything about it.
If there are applications that shouldn't be there you can break the "file to application" link using an option in OnyX. I've not tried the option, but maybe it can help.

Here is a .jpg of all the applications, some at the bottom were not visible but you get the picture.

I would like to make all the dummy Photoshop applications dissapear.

If I can't, oh well.

Thanks for any help you can lend me.

(One out of three should work, if you are using Safari and see the small blue question mark, switch over to Mozilla or Firefox, they are showing up clear for me.)

um, just search the HD for those files (that show up in the shortcut menu). they should be around where photoshop is installed. delete them, and you're all set.

edit: works for the PS shortcuts, not the other ones

not a good idea, lots that show up are photoshop plugins and extensions, delete these and youll cripple if not kill photoshop and have to reinstall it anyway.

no, if the file name matches the shortcut exactly, and there's one copy of it, then it's safe to delete.
plus, they should all be in the same place, so they should be easy to identify and delete.
And of course, there's the trusty trash can in case anything breaks
