Program mounts on desktop every time I open it.

A program I use rather frequently (Frostwire) mounts itself on the desktop every time I open it, forcing me to eject it every time I quit to clean up my desktop. Anyone know a possible reason for this? Did I not install it correctly? I'm relatively new to macs.

Sure, you're not running it from applications, you're running it from the dmg. Open the DMG, copy the app to applications and run it from there.
