I was going to change its password the other day and clicked cancel. ever since then, it keeps asking for passwords to some things.

    think I fixed it.

I went to my home folder> library> keychains

folder, and moved the file called login.keychain to the trash...

logged out, and tiger just made a new file.

    so far so good.

    no problem.

Yeah It started when I was going to change the keychain password but clicked cancel.... ever since then it's popping up all the time asking for passwords (never did that before). Was getting annoying. perhaps it corrupted the file or something. Not sure.

I have this same problem, but never bothered to find a solution. Does deleting it cause any issues/errors and fixes it with no flaws?

fine so far, i've restarted and it's not bugging me anymore.

you can keep the old file in case you want to go back to it.....

looks like this file keeps track of internet passwords, Mail app, ftp to sites, AIM.... so it's possible you may be asked one last time for some stuff.... but it appears the new file will store the info and not ask again.

Keep the copy just in case...

There is Keychain First Aid also. You open Keychain Access from the Utilities folder and look for Keychain First Aid. That might fix it also.

I tried the first aid. did nothing. Glad you mentioned it, I forgot. It's worth a shot though.
