Just wondering if anyone has any experience and would reccomend any local backup software. I have a daily online/offsite backup running but also want to back up my data incrementally to my external drives.

Currently I'm using Silverkeeper by Lacie - a free and very useful package but doesn't seem to back up incrementally - it just backs up the entire directory every time.

Oh, and free if possible!

Time Machine is free, with the OS.

Otherwise, I can show you how to write a one line batch script that you can create an applescript application with. Real easy.

I previously looked into the applescript method. It is definitely a viable option but for the sake of my backups - if stuff doesn't get backed up due to a goof up on my part then a tried and tested automated method would be better!

Thanks for your help guys I'll have a look at CC Cloner too
