Hi,

I'm trying to download Xcode, but I keep running into the Mac dev center (Mac Developer Program - Apple Developer) where I'm asked to register for $99. I thought xcode was free. Where can I download it?

Ultimately, I'm trying to install make on my Mac 10.6.3. Any ideas about this or the previous question are greatly appreciated, - Dave

You can sign up for free here:
Register as an Apple Developer

Only the developer program that gives you early access to new OS seeds etc. is $99.

No need to register... XCode is on your CDs that you got with your machine. You have to install it from there. If you want updates, then you need to be a registered developer.

Using your Macs install DVD is the easiest solution. Just install the developer tools. If all you need is make, that may sound like over kill.

Xcode 3.2.6 should be available via a free developer account. That is the latest of the 3.x versions.
