Greetings - After much deliberation and years of PC fun I have gone Mac! I bought a new iMac and got it up and going and even got Photoshop CS3 installed...
My only problem has been with mail - I use Verizon and I can receive but can not send - could someone please hook me up with proper settings for outgoing to send messages???

Thanks and Happy New Year to all!

The website of your ISP (in this case Verizon) should have the required settings for you to use.

Okay, open mail, go to preferences, highlight your account, click advanced then type 586 into the port, retype your password and save your changes. If your port is grey (which mine was a few hours ago) then the apple guys are still working on the port 25 problem and you just have to ride it out and keep checking apple for updates. hope this helps, it worked for me!
