i was said this
On the firewall front, I'm perfectly happy with OSX's built in firewall. If set up properly, it can make your computer incredibly secure.

can anyone help me how to ''set it up properly''?

ALSO

why do people use firefox instead of CAMINO if CAMINO is practicly same thing as firefox, but Mac based, meaning its FOR MACS! or am i wrong in something? or is there something i dont get?

Click on the Firewall's Advanced or Options button and turn on all three choices. Check the log after 10 or 15 minutes to see how many attempts were made to break into the computer, especially if you have a fast net connection.

I prefer Firefox to Camino because Camino can't use Firefox's extensions, or add-ons. I run 20 of them, and they are far more valuable to me than the very modest speed gain Camino offers.

This I guess will not be popular here but I use Safari and find the Popup Blocker works great for all sites I visit. Never have needed anything else.

No, not really.

While Camino is based on the same rendering engine as Firefox, they are both different apps so it's only logical that Firefox extensions work on Firefox and only Firefox.

Besides the developing community for Firefox is much more important and bigger than the Camino developing gang.

For Camino add-ons, go here.

No, not on OSX for the simple reason is that there are none as yet for OSX. Someday there could be a virus or Malware, but at this time you are quite safe. If you are worried though, just turn on the OSX firewall from the Sharing Tab in System Preferences.

No its not worthless, a firewall restricts access to your computer from other external computers

Mit321 was talking using the OSX Firewall to prevent Virus's. I said that there are none in OSX at this point. Like Del stated though, the Firewall can protect you from other systems networking into yours. For that it's great.

An AntiVirus program at this point on OSX is worthless unless you download Windows files and do not want to infect your friends with Windows or run Windows in Parallels or Bootcamp.

I never really tried to say the Firewall is worthless. It was late. I have a very good Hardware firewall here so don't use the the OSX one, but turning it on can't hurt.

k now am just curious, if i send and open Mac WORD (microsoft) files can i infect the user how is opening them? or can i infect myselft for opening myselft to check what i sended was the thing i was supposed to send?

this is very important, so i really need to know this.

(For those that extreme Mac users or experienced. Is Tech Tool Pro, worth it? or does it cause problems? )
