Hi guys, I went on a break and I'm back on the forums! Whew!

I need help on torrents, and my client is Transmission. When I was on Windows and I downloaded torrents off BitComet, there was a "download" and "upload" pane that indicates the speed. My uploads were sort of fast, and my downloads were really "working".

But on Transmission, my uploads are zero. As in zip. Nada. None. After downloading and I have to seed, I can't because I don't even upload. My maximum upload speed (in the prefs) is 20KB/s. And downloads work, but peers disappear after a short period of download time. I have to pause the download and resume it again to get peers. And my downloads are SUPER slow. Sooo much. I'd be happy if I get 10KB/s! And no, I am not exaggerating. Its usual speed is 2KB/s or lower. With 6 peers. And the max DL speed in the prefs is unlimited.

I don't know what I should do! Do I get a new client? (I hope not, I really like Transmission! It's neat and simple!) Can you suggest preferences change? And another question, how do you create torrents?? I have to make torrents so I make a "give-and-take" situation, help please!

It sucks!

Side note: What's up with the new smileys? I really liked the old ones better. :(

Try Azureus.

Do you have port forwarding set up? You need to open a port and make sure your Torrent program knows what port you've chosen.

How do I know if I have port forwarding set up? And how do I set it up?

*BitTorrent is okay though, my upload in one of the torrents I'm seeding has a maximum of 13KB/s, but I have to restart the program once in a while just to keep that average.. because it drops down to 0. Downloads still are VERY slow, max of 3KB/s*
