iTunes keeps crashing... help?

roughly half of the times that i've tried importing CDs, somewhere towards the end itunes stops ripping them, and just locks up on me. i wait a long time before force quitting out of iTunes and just starting again where i left off.

i'd hate to have to do this every time i want to copy music to my library... any thoughts on what i might be doing wrong, or what?

(one day old macbook, too. i'm rather sad about this problem)
