    Disk utility is being uncooperative
The other day, I went to repair permissions on my laptop as I do every week, and I got this strange message that said:

    Error: No valid packages

Does anyone know what this means? Is there a way to fix it? I'd appreciate any advice anyone can give me, as I'd like to be able to repair permissions on my computer in the future.

is there anything in your (hard drive)/library/reciepts folder?

those reciepts are where disk utility gets the info to repair permissions
