Hi, everyone!

I have Steam installed on Wine on my MacBook Pro, and I can run many games such as Garry's Mod and others.

However, I'm trying to run a game called Moonbase Alpha - but it won't launch and keeps coming up with an error saying it can't start because of a serious error and needs to close. I've tried this on Wine and Crossover.

Any ideas? :)

wine is not compatible with it

you can try regular steam for mac os x no wine skin and see if its there

Oh. :(

Is there any way to install a lower version to avoid the latest version of DirectX?

Nope, as John said without the latest DirectX it's not going to work. Your best bet is to install Windows via Boot Camp on your Mac in order to use DirectX. You'll need at a minimum to install Windows 7 SP-1.
