Greetings
I have an old MacBook (2006 intel) that I have given new life to - instaled an SSD.

The machine is running SL and now has quite impressive performance - boots in 9 seconds, applications (iPhoto) loads instantly... Not bad for a 6 year old computer.

Anyway

I am looking to install Pages on this box. I already own Pages for my Imac (ML) and iPad.

Apparently the current version of iWork or Pages will not install on SL.

Where can I find older versions of these tools that will run on SL??

Thanks

For compatibility with SL…you need an older version of iWork. Check Wikipedia for the latest version of iWork that works with SL. Then check e-Bay to see what's available.

You could try Amazon…or other used "Apple/Macintosh" retailers on the internet. But they're probably going to be expensive (but maybe you'll get lucky). e-Bay is really your best bet.

Of course you could also keep your eye on Craig's List. But in my experience…specific software titles such as iWork (and the older iWork version you need) rarely show up when you need/want them.

You might check out your local Craig's list or even a Mac users group if there's one in your area. By the way, iWork 08 is compatible with Snow Leopard - I know because I own a copy. However, I'm not sure other than what I mentioned above where you can find a copy.

Why not upgrade to lion? Currently iWork requires 10.7.4 or higher? Is it even still possible to upgrade to lion? I would think so since I was able to purchase a copy of SL from apple in late july of this year.

EDIT: I've heard lion is quite slow with the minimum 2 gigs of RAM, and the 2006 macbooks only can use 3.something (though you can put 4 in), so that might be a problem.
