Hi

I have added a hotmail account to the MAIL application and would like it to NOT download all the mails I have on the Hotmail server - just start importing from today - how can I do that? (I have 3500 mails in the hotmail server which I would need to leave there and not download nor delete for now - but I do not want them downloaded).

Any thoughts?

Many thanks in advance.

As far as I can see in the preferences for Mail, there is no way to specify a particular time frame from where to begin downloading messages fro Hotmail. You can create a new folder in Hotmail and move the messages you want to keep on the server there. Mail only retrieves messages from the inbox (the junk folder is ignored as well). Then when you connect to the hotmail server, only the messages in your inbox will be downloaded. In the Mail preferences, you can also specify when and if you want messages removed from the server (see the attached image). Hope this helps some.

Thanks

Thank you very much for the suggestion - not perfect solution cause it means I will actually have to "clean up" my inbox :\, but definitely a good one. So thank you very much.

Happy holidays.
