question on using both mac mail & outlook express
    Hello,
I love my macmail server client. It works great. I had to setup microsoft outlook express though as I am using a new webmail application for my mobile phone and it is not compatable with mac.

So I got them both set-up but realized when I received an email via express, I could not get it on my macmail.
And vice versa, if I checked my macmail first; I would not receive it on my express.

Is there a reason for this or a way to avoid this. I would like to make sure that I get the email downloaded onto both clients.

Do the clients not work this way?

This will only really work if your provider supports IMAP. If they do, you'll want to setup your accounts to use IMAP in the settings.

Like schweb mentions, you want to use IMAP settings because this option does not download the mail to your mail client and take it off of the server. Instead it leaves all the messages on the server, so no matter what client you use you can see your mail.

    imap vs pop
    Hello,
thanks for the response. I was trying to reset my clients to IMAP, but I have a few yahoomail and sbcglobal accounts and neither of these mention allowing for IMAP. They only have instructions for POP. Does it make sense that they would only allow POP and not IMAP?

This means that they would only allow POP access.
