Does anyone know of a good FTP program for OS X. I used CuteFTP Pro on Windows. I am looking for something equally advanced. I prefer free (or at least trial period) but pay is ok as long as it is cheap.

I agree with Eric559. Cyberduck is free and very effective. Transmit is better, but it comes with a price tag. It all depends on how much you are going to use it I think.

I am a avid web developer and use FTP everyday! I will check out those solutions, anyone else have any suggestions?

What about an all in one FTP and Coding program?

I use a dual pane file manager for FTP. I have always found this to be the most "natural" solution. I have found two that I really like. The first is Forklift. The second is DiskOrder. Both of these are dual pane file managers where one of the panes can be FTP connected to another site.

Taking this approach to FTP gives you both a great FTP client AND and great dual pane file manager. You may wish to consider this.

Coda (from the Transmit people) is a sharp all-in-one app, but not free.

TextWrangler is a powerful (but text-only) code editor with built-in FTP/SFTP support. It's free, closed-source.

Thanks Guys, right now I am thinking Coda which I like their coding platform, but their internal ftp is not so great so I am going to try Transmit and see how that works.

I really like both Coda and Transmit. They work for me well as a team as like you said, Coda's FTP is pretty basic. Been using Transmit for years now and never looked back.

    +1

Had a bad experience with Cyberduck where it didn't do what it was told to do, Filezilla gets the job done every single time.

I also use FileZilla. Works well so far and looks similar to WS_FTP, which is what I use in Windows.
