Also sounds like John Lennon in the song Imagine and also the make believe John Lennon in the movie Forrest Gump, Imagine if you can!

sorry didn't mean to be a part of changing the subject, wasn't going to go on for too long. Just guilty of enjoying a decent conversation.

While it's nice to have extra time, I would wager that -most- of the more seasoned folks aren't doing anywhere near as much posting to address questions that may have come up very recently. Additionally, anyone new that sees that there's a shutdown looming would seemingly "go elsewhere" to get help.

IMHO, this period of limbo is doing more to detract from a change of venues than anything else.
Well, I, for one, am coming here just as before, looking for folks who need help and trying to give answers and warn them the site is closing soon. Right after the new year, it was slow, but the pace is picking up again, I think. And by both answering and telling them how to stay connected, maybe we can bring some of those new folks to the new site when it opens up.

Same here Jake. I'm still getting requests to be added to the email list.
Did you know these forums are soon to be shut down?

For mine I will wait for the macforums.org site to be up and running. Just can't tolerate those 60 emails a day from FB, including photos. Australia's 6Mb/ps telephone line ADSL in rural areas does not han dle photos well.
Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

The person who posted all the pics is gone from the group. We told him it was bothering people and he got mad and left.

I don't know who told him what, but that's not the result we want. We are here to attract folks to our new forums not drive them away. If someone does not like a particular post, just skip over it.

@Harry: You can turn off the emails from Facebook by going to notifications and turn them off. I receive no notifications from Facebook on my Mac nor my iPhone.

As Aussies say, bugger. I've had plenty of help and wish I could have helped others out as well. I've already put my stamp (hopefully) on facebook for the new forum. I've seen mad rumours and will have a look, but feel that the people on here are so friendly and helpful that I'd like to stay with them.

A healthy, happy and prosperous new year to all members and hope to see you 'on the other side.'
    Pete.

Ah yes, I used to visit that place some years ago, but I hear it has improved lately. And under a slightly different name now I believe.

The pictures didn't reach my email, so they didn't bother me as much. He did like to share what he was doing, and his reviews were thorough. Maybe he'll come back once the board is up again.

Sorry, I made a comment about there being so many words, with a smilie. Didnít anticipate any problems but trouble seems to follow me.

Though, it was really really hard to follow his posts though, I did try!

I donít look for trouble honest

    So glad it wasn't true!
