    Studio Monitors Near Computer Screen
is there any truth that placing studio monitors (or speakers of any kind) next to your computer screen will lead to damaging the screen or parts of your computer?

Percussive waves may cause your monitor image to flutter as the screen flexes. There have been many reports of CRT monitors 'shimmering' when music or voice is played loudly close-by. Damage to electronic parts may eventuate over a long period of time, but that is more likely due to flexing movement rather than electronic interference.

When using speakers in close proximity to a computer monitor, magnetically sheilded speakers are highly recommended! Non-sheilded components can make the colours of a screen smear or appear out of focus if the woofer is too close!

Yes, I agree with the person above.

It shouldn't have an effect on your monitor if it is sheilded. The "lines" you've seen on a computer screen happen because there is no sheild that protects from outside interference of the signal. RF is one of them, that is why the cell phone causes this too.
