• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

When i use DVD2one I don't seem to be able to fit movies onto one disc?
Is there a methods or piece of software to enable compression?

louise, you do mean DVD20neX don't you?
As this is a compression app.
If so, have you got it set for Variable or Constant RATIO.
Which Movie are you trying to copy?
i find constant sometimes gives me a movie that is to big for the disc.
or you can change the Output to User Defined then change the MB from 4472 to 4450.

cheers

I use shintaro blanks which are a lot cheaper than the Apple blanks and haven't had a problem in over 300 burns, give them ago.

if you use a pioneer superdrive like i do, there are really really cheap DVD-R's from office max that you can pick up... they run for $38 for 50 (or there was a rebate to make them 9.99)... the only catch is that they are 1x... but ive only had 1 buffer under run with them so far... they work just fine... i was a bit worried that they would be crap cuz they were so cheap... but they work very well on the pioneer superdrive

they are called "Starlogic DVD-R Recordable"

hope this helps if your lookin for a bargan on discs

and ya, ive been putting all my discs at 4450 to avoid the error of "this file is too big to be written to this disc"
