• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I'm in the process of learning Russian at the moment, and watch the news online on Âèäåîíîâîñòè - Ïåðâûé êàíàë

It has loads of news items in video format, and I would like to be able to download them to put them on my iPad so I can watch at a later date.

Is there any App or extension that will allow me to download these vids? I've had a look on the actual site, but can't find a download link.

I have VLC/Realplayer/etc, incase these programs can do it - I just haven't discovered how! :D

Many thanks!

Thanks, tried it, but it seems the site isn't supported.

Hmmmm, anyone else?

A "Flash downloader" looks to be what you need, but I don't have any specific recommendations for you. Check on MacUpdate by doing a search on Flash download.

Cheers for the advice, Chas, but it RealPlayer seems to do the trick!

best thing to me - if running Safari - is ClickToFlash. it adds a "Download Video" option to the context menu.
