Quicktime X Screen Recording Issue - Mac OS X Lion

Hi All,

When I record my screen using Quicktime X on OS X Lion about the first 5 seconds of the video (after I click start recording and everything) is cut off. This has happened every time I record the screen in Quicktime X. What could be the problem?

Many Thanks
Oliver

This is probably due to the hard drive needing to "spin up" after you initiate recording. Turn off "energy saver's" preference to sleep the hard drive when not needed.

Thanks for your suggestion. I have tried this by unchecking the 'Sleep Hard Drive(s) Whenever Possible' option but the same thing is happening with Quicktime.

I'm seeing only a 1-2 second delay, but OTOH I have a 7200rpm drive in my machine so that may be a factor. Maybe just start recording, count to five, then begin? You can always easily trim the beginning later.
