    is it possible to burn blueray discs on a MBP?

    No, Apple doesn't support BluRay.

    Apple may not support B-R and there are no players that will play commercial B-R movies, but Toast does indeed support burning to B-R.

    i might add that you need Toast Titanium Pro to burn hi Def content, or purchase the plug in separately at $20 for the standard version.

    Yes absolutely. Toast detects any drive connected and gives you the choice of which you want to use to burn with.

    Also note that the current version of Final Cut Studio can create simple BR discs and that one of the Adobe products can too.

    And also to note that you can actually burn 25 minutes of Blu Ray material to a DVD in Toast.
