    High quality transfer?
    Hi all,

I would like to use imovie to edit videos off my HD camcorder and view them on dvd or off my hDD in high quality.

I have tried numerous ways and methods and do not achieve the same clear qualities as i Do when i view hdmi out and into my plasma via the mini hd cable.
is it at all possible to view it in high def's after editing?
Should i perhaps purchase final cut pro instead?

And sometimes after editing and exporting in imove some of the files will not be played or recognized say through a PS3.. But yet some do and have the exact same extension files. Strange.

    thanks for your time.

    Specs:
    20" Intel iMac 2.4 Ghz/3G Ram/320HD, Snow Leopard. PBook G4, 1.5Ghz/1.5 Ram/250 HD, Leopard 10.5.6.
If you are compressing the files in any way, then you are going to lose quality somewhere. Just how much depends on how small you are making the files.
What format are you using for the files?

Not sure,, I just dump them straight in and export at highest rate I can.

Then what program are you opening them in?
If you find the files on your Mac you can see what format by the extension.
