Can white balance be corrected after shooting?
I have been using a Sony HDV 1080 which is several times more expensive than my trusty Panasonic NV GS-500.

I have been away filming with it and all the footage has this horrid blue hue on it which means that unlike any other camcorder I have used, the white balance did not adjust itself.

The guy who hired me told me just to point and shoot, but I don't think he will be happy with the results - I certainly am not.

is there anything that can be done to rectify the problem?

Perhaps, but you might want to tell people what editing software you have access to. See this FCP tutorial for instance. FCE has a two way color corrector. See this post on this very forum for an iMovie possibility.

Here is an interesting use of the color correctors.
CameraTime - Time lapse photography for novice and advanced users.

When asking questions, post the version of your software. You'll receive better answers.

Please post your results to the thread as it is good feedback.
