Mail shows constantly "Moving 1 of 408" messages and it never finishes
    Hi,

I recently add my Gmail Account in Mail app and it keeps on showing "moving 1 of 408" messages constantly and it never finishes. What can be the reason for that?

    Thanks

Model details and operating system will help for starters.
Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

Try a web search like 'Mail "moving 1 of x" messages' or elaborated a bit and have a look through the hits, like this one:

Is it actually stuck on "1 of" and not incrementing at all? And you can open Activity Monitor to see if Mail is taking any CPU or if there is any network traffic moving. If Mail is idle and there is no network, then nothing is going on, but if Mail is using cycles and the network is busy, then maybe it's just taking some time to do whatever it is doing.

On Activity Monitor, Mail is taking CPU power but it's like this since last few days, mean it's stuck on "1 of XX".

Log into gmail and check the Settings for Forwarding and POP/IMAP, there is a setting there, for POP, that limits emails. Look at all options.
