Yup the OS X version matters and I believe only the latest versions finally allowed moving third party icons as Apple usually already allowed the action, but only with some of their own apps.

    See this for more:

    EDIT:
Maybe I missed it, but I still haven't seen any details at to what Kay is using for their Mac. keyboard or OS X version. It can and does make a difference but it's not up to us to keep guessing or suggesting solutions for all various situations.

Apologies Kay, I just tried it on my MBP (High Sierra) and that action only allows me to reposition some of the icons, not remove them. Other 1st party app icons can be removed that way such as Siri but not eg Dropbox. I did not see if you were using a non apple keyboard because it could be a built in feature of that.
I used to be conceited but now I'm perfect.

Personally I have never had a mystery icon on my tool bar that I couldn't remove or disable but i do have way too many. I know this is not a solution but I recommend Bartender $15.00 if your toolbar is getting overcrowded. This app allows you to hide or move toolbar icons to a second tool bar allowing you to just display your most used icons all the time. This is very useful if you find that some menus are starting to cover some of your icons.

Lets try to end this thread.
I only wondered what the icon was.
It don't bother me. I can remove it by tapping the caps lock key even tho I have caps lock disabled.
    Thanks for your insight.
As stated before my configuration is an iMac pro with a logitech bluetooth keyboard but I am sure it also did this with my stock apple keyboard before I sold it on ebay.

Maybe the combination of the iMac pro and the Logitech bluetooth keyboard used together provides some extra features.

Or maybe as you say using the apple keyboard, because it's a iMac Pro.

I'm sure they should have one for you at any of the Sussex fairs even if it is an old leftover one.

PS: My father was born and raised in Surrey. Sutton/Cheam area I believe.
