Not only am I new to Mac's (but loving the switch!), but I'm new to iTunes as well. Seeing how I've just ordered a 32Gb Touch from Apple, I figured I'd better start finding out what I'd been missing. ;D

So far I've copied over about 10Gb of music to my "Music" folder on my MacBook, opened up iTunes, and then clicked on File -> "Add to Library".

I can see my tracks OK - but when I click on the "List by Group with Artwork", or "Cover Flow" icon, a few of my albums are split into single tracks, even though they're from the same album (the Bob Marley album Legend for example appears 13 times).
Why, and how can I fix this?

Also - what's the difference between my Music folder, and the iTunes Library? Under Advanced I can see "Consolidate Library", which throws up a warning of no return, but what does it actually mean?

Any help appreciated.

Solved

Problem solved.

It was a mixture of multiple ID Tag info, and not ticking the "Compilation" check box.

I'm too used to working in a Windows World, and over complicated the issue. ;D

Filling my 32Gb Touch up nicely now with music and movies.
