    Battery Life - Are you getting more than 12hrs?
    When I leave my house at 7am the battery is fully charged. By 7pm, I may have 10% left if I'm lucky. At work I use it to listen to podcasts and music. Very few calls. No video. Is the phone draining the battery faster because I can't get a cellular signal in my office? If that is the case, I wish there was a way to turn off the phone while still being able to use the ipod section.

    Just put the phone in "airplane mode." This will turn off the cell phone signal.

    I have had my phone on since Monday morning at 7:30 am. It started with a full charge, since then I've listened to a couple hundred songs, made 30-50 phone calls, sent 3-50 text messages, played around on the internet, used Maps for about 20 minutes on a trip to a restaurant. Here I sit Wednesday morning with over half the meter still full. Also, the entire time I've had WiFi on, and used it when surfing the web at work. When I was using google maps for the restaurant trip I was on EDGE. Now, I don't know if I'm just really lucky, or if you're really unlucky. I'd say that 12 hours of music taking you to 10% is terrible. Apple touts that you'll get 24 hours of music playback, you're getting half. I'd make an appointment at the store to have it looked at.

    if ANY phone is trying to find service, it is burning up vast amounts of power and you battery will drain really fast. my Treo did that at my last place i worked. i was in the basement and the signal was intermittent at best so my phone was constantly acquiring and loosing signal. my battery was almost depleted after 9 hours and i never used it.
    From a G4 400MHz to an Intel Mac Mini to iMac Core Duo to a Macbook Pro 2.6GHz.............gotta love Apple!

    I make a couple of calls a day, send a bunch of text messages, and browse the internet quite a bit over both WiFi and EDGE, and I don't get anywhere near the halfway point for the battery. I would guess that I could go 2 days without charging with the way I use the phone

    Do you have WiFi on? If so and you don't need it, turn it off. It's a big battery hog. CNET did some battery testing and found that talk time was cut by more than half (from about 7 1/2 hrs to 3 1/2 hrs) when wifi was enabled.

    well im in a similar situation. Im using my phone at work, and after my 7 hour shift, my battery is at around 10%. Now, i have wifi off, and the only thing im doing is texting and occasionally browsing the internet, yet my battery dies in only 7 hours. After reading this post i guess im just ****ed cause i work in a hotel / casino so i never get too great of a signal, so its constantly searching..

    Is there anything i can do about this? I would like to text at work. Haha.

    Thanks. =]

    Wi-fi is a hog. At home when it's on, my phone lasts anywhere from 4-6 hrs. Depends on how much I check my e-mail, browse, etc. I would try it w/o, but I need it.

    I don't seem to be getting the same battery issues with my Wi-Fi on. I actually keep it on at all times and my battery still lasts a while...
