I couldn't figure out how to get a new audiobook on my new airbag onto my old iPod classic, so I bought a shuffle. When I try to put the book on the shuffle I get "[book] was not copied to the iPod because you are not authorized for it on this computer". So now I have an audiobook sitting on my computer, but can't get it onto either of my iPods. My first choice is to use the classic and return the shuffle, but at this point I'll settle for either one. How do I do this?

Was it something simple? It often is. My wife listens to "talking" books which she downloads from Bolinda Audio via our Public Library in Australia.. She loves to listen to them for a short while after we turn out the lights at night. After the recent iOS update to 8.4 her books were no longer in Music. After a brief panic we discovered them in iBooks. This is because when she imports them to a playlist in iTunes she manually enters the file name artist genre ect. The genre she uses is Audio Book so they all end up in iBooks BUT if she edits the track information to Spoken Word they end up in Music as albums. It's really a matter of which playback app she prefers.

It was just a matter of putting in apple id. But I still haven't been able to get my new audiobook onto my old iPod (with all my other books). Going to take it to my computer geek because I don't like the new iPod. Your wife sounds like she knows what she's doing. I, on the other hand, have no clue. : )
