I want to get a Griffin iTalk Pro to use with my current iPod Video 5G but since the iPod is out of warranty and I have had it replaced once because of a dead battery, if my iPod video dies, will the Griffin iTalk Pro work with the iPod Classic? It says it works with iPod 5G's and I want to be sure that if my iPod dies I won't have to go buy a new recording device.

So is the iPod Classic considered a 5th generation iPod?

No, iPod Classics are 6th and 7th generations.

Because of lack of reverse compatibility, it probably won't work.
