    Internet access through USB cable...
    does anyone know if it is possible to access the internet through the usb cable of the iPhone? i have wireless at home which i can connect to ok, but no wireless in work so was just wondering.

    Not possible. I guess you are left with using the slow EDGE network...

    The iPhone does not allow tethering so it's not possible.

    I beg to differ, I beilve using 3rd party apps you may tether with the iPhone. I have seen it done.

    While teethering is possible with the iPhone, you still (as of now) can't access internet through the USB port (can ANY device do that?)....

    Yes.. I tether my Treo 700p through the usb port for internet access. It's actually pretty quick too.

    Hey, found this coz I was looking for the same thing. I havent tried it yet, but let me know if it works
    EDGE is expensive as the data plan in Japan is around $60/mo.
    Plus, I travel a lot and it's much cheaper to use internet through my laptop.

    How to: Internet on iPhone through USB. No WIFI. No EDGE.
