I fully appreciate Mr. Jobs leveling the prices with a rebate. It has been over a week and I still dont have the rebate. When will Apple make good on the promise?

Apple hasn't even worked out the details of the rebate process yet, but they will do it. Just hang in there.

It's actually not a rebate, it's store credit. So there shouldn't be any 4-6 week wait period for a check to arrive. For all we know, a simple website could be setup where you enter the phone's serial number and get a printable store credit coupon.
Definitely seems like the best way to handle it rather than have people wait for the credit. Mainly because of the imminent Leopard release.
