Save text messages from iPhone 5s?
Friend of mine has an iPhone 5s and wants to save several text message threads to a pdf file or files on his computer. I couldn't help him, but perhaps someone could give me some tips and I'll do it with him.

    Thanks

Is your friend using iCloud and if so, does he sync his text messages?

Since your friend wants to export the texts to pdf files take a look at either iMazing or iExplorer. Both have the option of saving texts to pdf files. There are a few other file types that are also supported. Of the two programs, I prefer iMazing's interface but that could just be a matter of personal preference.

I too prefer iMazing 2 as it's easier to use than the others that are available. However, iMazing is not free although right now the Macworld store has it on sale. Keep in mind that iCloud is free (up to 5 GB) and if he syncs those messages to his computer using iCloud, then saving them to text or pdf is easy.

You're right. Syncing messages via iCloud is a good solution. I usually do things that way and it's usually reliable for me. In the last week or two though I've had a problem because of texts from the phone not being passed to the computer.
