iPhone 6+ Keyboard pop-up letters

My apologies if there is another thread that answers this question. My searches didn't find any.

First, does anyone know a way to disable the pop-up letters on the keyboard when you type? I realize they are supposed to help your typing be more accurate, but it's flat out annoying.

Second, and relating to the first, recently the pop up letters are 'sticking'. Some will hang there, in some cases blocking the suggested words. I've had my phone now since last fall, and it's just now happening.

I've tried holding down the home and power button (a suggestion I found on a google search), and resetting but that hasn't helped.

Am I just going to have to get used to this, or is there a fix?

Go to Settings » General » Keyboard... toggle "Predictive" off.

Second, and relating to the first, recently the pop up letters are 'sticking'. Some will hang there, in some cases blocking the suggested words. I've had my phone now since last fall, and it's just now happening.

Well turn the feature off as above for now and see what happens. Also make sure you are up-to-date on iOS 8.3.

I updated to 8.3 awhile back, so that's not an issue.

As for your suggestion, I may not have made myself clear. What I am referring to is the pop-up of each letter as you touch the letter. They appear when you touch the letter key. I was hoping to turn that feature off, if available. At times they stick, meaning they don't go away but hang there. And it's annoying.

Your suggestion only made the word suggestion bar disappear. I don't mind those, I just don't need a larger image of my letter each time I touch it. Curious if you can turn that off.

You're probably a better typist than I am because I like that feature. But I don't think that can be turned off, however, the characters shouldn't be sticking and getting in the way. Maybe member LIAB knows of a way to speed them up so they don't appear on screen that long.

I'm a great typist on a normal computer keyboard, but not so much on my iPhone
The sticking part is really annoying, hopefully someone has a remedy for that since I'm stuck with the popup letters.

Oh... ok. Nope, you can't disable that feature. As for why it's sticking, the only solution is to back up your iPhone; restore iOS 8.3 from scratch; then restore the backup.

BTW... do you happen to have any 3rd party keyboards installed from the App Store? If so, try removing those first.

Nope, I don't have any 3rd party keyboards installed, just using the standard old iPhone keyboard. I was hoping I didn't have to reset the phone, but I guess that's the only option. It's gotten to the point I hate to even text anymore.

I'll give it a shot - phone is 6 months old and I bought the 128g plus, kinda ticked off to be having glitches with it already. I've had the 3 and 4 phones, and never a problem.

Nope, these are when you are typing on the keyboard, like in a text message. When you touch a letter, a number, a character - any item on the keyboard, it pops up above the key. It's every letter, or character, or number - everything. And when it pops up, it doesn't go away until you hit another character. And it covers other keys while it hangs there.

Just an update on this 'issue' - the recent Apple OS update fixed it. Back to normal!

Those pop-up larger letters are just a confirmation -- much needed for most typists -- that you did in fact type the letter you thought you hit. I'm glad to hear the update fixed the sticking issue.
