:[Cannot get a 'keyboard ' when adding a contact or editing.
What am I doing wrong?:(:Not-Amused::(:(

We can only guess since you haven't told us what you are doing.

After you click the "+" to add a contact or clicked the "Edit" to modify an existing contact...

The keyboard is not going to open until you touch inside one of the fields to place a cursor where you want to type.

I have put the cursor on 'name' ...No keyboard appears

I have tries 'edit' on a present contact, same result- NO keyboard

Try powering the phone down and restart it.

What phone do you have?
What version of iOS is it running?

And, there does not exist a "Name" field in at least iOS 6 or 7.
There is a "First" and "Last" field.

If you have ever paired a nearby Bluetooth keyboard to this phone, it may not show the onscreen keyboard as it believes the Bluetooth keyboard it paired with is nearby. Try turning off BT and see if the problem still occurs.
