Purchased first iPhone (5c) and I am wondering what you guys do to back-up the phone to your macs? Don't really want to go the iTunes or cloud route.

    Thanks for the help.

You've just eliminated the two easiest methods of backing up an iOS device. What's wrong with backing it up that way since it's fast and works well?

Backing up through iTunes does back up your phone to your Mac. You can even encrypt your backups if you're concerned (see the backups section in the Summary page of iTunes when you connect it).

    Open iTunes
Connect your iPhone to the Mac
    Select the iPhone in iTunes
    click on "Backup Now"

Doesn't get any easier than that.
