Hey guys,
So I love my 3GS but I'm having this weird issue.
When charging through my laptop, I sometimes get the error "charging not supported with this accessory". This is odd as I'm using the USB cable that came with the phone to do the charging. If I unplug and replug the cable, it fixes the problem.
Anyone seen this?

Perhaps a faulty cable? Try switching your cable or remove the dock from the equation if you are using one. If the problem still persists after changing those two things, I would tend to think the 30 pin connector on the phone may be bad and a trip to the Apple store is called for.

Good luck!

To eliminate the USB port on your Mac as a problem, try plugging it in to the other port on your MBP. If the problem persists, you'll probably need to make a trip to the Apple store.

Me too!

I'm having the same problem. I've connected it to my MacBook pro 3 times. Twice I got the error message, but one time it actually charged. It seems like every time I buy something from Apple I'm back at the Genius bar a couple days later trying to solve a problem with it. Here we go again...
