The Ematic Genesis 7" touchscreen with WiFi and a camera - only $59 - link.

Based on the customer reviews has some great selling points.

It is a very slow moving tablet but if you have a lot of time on your hands, then this tablet is for you.

    Tom…thanks for the idea!

Can you mention any Pros, Cons. or limitations to getting this versus a Kindle Fire or Nexus 7 (which I know are more expensive).

    I have a father-in-law that I was thinking of getting a tablet for Christmas…and I certainly wouldn't be opposed to spending $59 vs. $200+.

    I'm not being cheap…just frugal!

I was looking at getting my little guy some kind of a cheap, basic tablet, but was looking at the Pandigital tablets they often sell for around $100 around Black Friday. Curious as to whether anyone has experimented with them? He really wants an iPad Mini, but Santa Claus does not bring $330 toys to 7-year-olds.... or so he said.
Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

I wouldn't, not even for my four year old son. Cheap tablets like those are terrible.

Just be aware that pandigital is no longer in business. So, no support and no warranty.

Heard a rumor when I was in Radio Shack a few days ago, they would have a Black Friday sale on the Kindle Fire - that might get it down to the $130 price range.

And the one I was in still had some original first gen Kindle Fires - didn't try to negotiate a price since we have 2 of those already.
