Yes, I am a dork. Our iPads are on FedEx flight 48 (HKG-MEM) which is currently over southern Alaska. I actually looked up the flight number, and looked it up on flight tracker...

How do you look up the flight number?

I knew it was coming via FedEx from Hong Kong to Memphis (as all our other Apple deliveries have) so I pulled up a flight tracker (like this one: Track Flight Status) and put "FedEx" as the airline, and HKG (Hong Kong) and Memphis (MEM) as the city pairs. It gave me the only FedEx flight operating that day between those two city pairs. Flight 48. (I've spent the past 15 years in the airline industry, hence my immense aviation nerdness, er, knowledge.)

Which makes this quote pretty **** funny:

Nice! So it looks like my iPad left Alaska on fedex flight 9161 to Oakland CA. I just hope it makes its way to NY soon...

Well my iPad was certainly busy while I slept! It made it all the way to Memphis and from there up to Michigan where I live. It's sitting at the local depot now, but not out out for delivery. If I don't see it on a tuck by Noon I plan on calling to see if I can pick it up on the way home from work.

Ours are still in Memphis with the status of "International Shipment Release"... :/

Hopefully it'll make it up to IND (another HUGE sort location for FedEx) sometime today and make it on a truck for delivery tomorrow!
