    IOS development tutorial
I'd be grateful to anyone who can recommend a really good IOS course that teaches basic concepts in a step-by-step manner, but that involves projects, like a bootcamp, except for free. This should be viable whilst studying at university or viable to complete during the summer. Most of what I discovered (udemy, etc.) was paid.

    Thanks in advance !

Checkout iTunes U and the Stanford courses which are actual courses that was offered and recorded. There is even homework that goes along with the course.. It's completely free. The videos run about 50 mins or so and give you a good grounding. Along with that, you should grab a book or two on iOS and Objective-C or Swift (depending on which way you want go) and read along..

Any recommendations on some good books for Swift ? I'd imagine it being fairly similar to Android, so would prefer to get stuck straight into projects, as that is more important than learning syntax.

I like the idea of having homework tasks - used to this style from university.

Not sure what you know about Android/Java or programming in general, but Swift is a new language and is very unlike Android/Java. I don't have any specific book recommendations, but you can browse Amazon or your favorite tech publisher and see what's well rated..

You may also want to check out Ray Wenderlich's site which has a ton of tutorials..

I don't mean language-wise. Swift was created to simplify Obj-C. That's all I know regarding Swift. University has given me significant experience developing in Android.

I'm talking about things like passing things through intents, and services and google maps API. As in, library wise there must be similar functions ? I don't know how much experience with android you have to understand what I'm talking about.
