Hi together,

as my title says, I am currently looking for a Scanner App for my iPhone.

I would like to use the camera in order to scan documents and save them as a .pdf. It should be very easy and convenient to use.

Do you have any suggestions for me? :)

Thanks.

I have used JotNot (free) a few times, worked well for what I needed.

I use Genius Scan. Works well. You can send to email or... check it out. free.

I've used Scanner Pro (mentioned above, currently on sale) and Genius Scan+ and ABBYY BCR (for scanning business cards). All three have worked well.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Regarding GeniusScan, I have to buy the full version to be able to upload anything, right?

Regarding, ScannerPro, it seems to be a nice App, but I don´t want to spend money on an App (poor student :) ).

And I´m not that much of a techie. So an App that takes the scan automatically and does all the work, cutting borders, etc. - that would be perfect for me. I know that ScannerPro seems to provide some of these functions, but still a bit too complicated.

Or even scanning my documents, while I have them in my hand.

If you can afford an iPhone, you can afford half-a-cup-of-coffee's worth of money for a high-quality app.

Valid point.

I just wanted to ask, if there is such thing as a free alternative. I would even test a rather unknown app, maybe someone has heard of an "underground" one, unlike the leading products.

It will not matter to a big company if I, as a single person, will use it, but maybe I can help a smaller company which has a similar app.

Nearly all iPhone app developers are just 1-2 people, so it's a funny distinction to make. One should want to reward the best app for the job, I would think, regardless of who made it (short of Halliburton or some other boycott-worthy company, I suppose).

Cool! Always happy to learn about new options! Highly-rated, no in-app purchase nonsense -- looks great!
