Why won't iPhone push photos to iPhoto via wifi?

About a month ago, the beta for the new IOS X Lion came out (10.6.7). I was all excited about it because I figured out how to push my photos from my iPhone to my Mac via iPhoto WITHOUT having to connect the dang cable. I just upgraded to 10.6.8 and used MacKeeper to clean up some useless files...but now my iPhone doesn't push the photos to iPhoto. Can someone explain to me why this doesn't work now? Is it something I'm forgetting to do on my iPhone or Mac to tell it to push the photos?

The first problem here is you use MacKeeper. The second problem is you are using a beta version of Lion that is supposed to be restricted to developers who know what they are doing. The third problem is this will be a feature of iCloud and comes free with iOS 5, and that's not out yet either.

Plus, 10.6.7 has nothing to do with Lion and is definitely not a beta of Lion, it is a Snow Leopard update as is 10.6.8.

I was under the impression that the update was linked to the future Lion upgrade since it had some iCloud capabilities - the iTunes update that came with the upgrade put iCloud capabilities on my iPhone which is sweet. Both of you still haven't answered my question - why was it working and now it's not? It doesn't matter to me if I'm supposed to have the update or not; I do. Why isn't the push via wifi working?

I do not have, nor have ever seen, any iCloud options on my iPhone, and I have the latest version (4.3.3). How EXACTLY had you been syncing wirelessly? What software, versions, steps to actually do the task, etc etc of everything in the chain? To my knowledge, iCloud has yet to go live with wireless syncing. It is supposed to be available if you use iOS 5 or Lion, so presumably you can have iOS 5 on your iPhone and still be using Snow Leopard, or have Lion and be on iOS 4.3.3 (or a future update). As it stands, I've not seen ANYTHING suggesting that it is usable now with the currently and publicly available versions of iOS and OS X.

So far, the only "cloud" features available with the 4.3.3 iOS update are the "Purchased" sections of iTunes and the App Stores and the option to have a purchase (app, song, etc.) automatically sent to another iOS device at time of purchase. I tried that out by buying a song on my iPhone 4 and watched it immediately show up on my iPad. It's something you have to turn on in the options somewhere.

But back on topic, I have not seen or heard of anyone able to wirelessly sync photos. To best of my knowledge, this is only available if they are running developers version of iOS 5. Devs are under a NDA, so that's why we wouldn't have heard about someone doing it.
Point being, 10.6.7 or 10.6.8 or whatever version of Snow Leopard (10.6.x) you are running would not be capable of wirelessly syncing your photos.

I too have 4.3.3 for iPhone and my IOS on the Mac is currently 10.6.8. However, since the 4.3.3 is for the iPhone, if you haven't discovered it already, you can go to your App Store and click on Updates. You'll see new features such as "All" and "Not On This iPhone". These are purchases you've made before that you can re-download if you choose. There's little iCloud icons on the right side that allow you to download the previously owned items.

The second cool feature is if you bust out the dusty iTunes app on your iPhone that I never used to use. Click on "Purchased" and it will let you re-download old songs you've purchased and/or lost that have been purchased through iTunes. This came in handy when my old computer died and I lost all my iTunes songs. Thank God for Mac!!! Never have problems!

The last feature is under the Settings app. Click on "Store" and enable as many of the three automatic download features as you wish. I especially like the Music one because whatever I download on iTunes on my Mac it pushes automatically to my iPhone (I know this works because I downloaded a song and it showed up without me having to manually sync my iPhone with my Mac via cable). The same goes with Apps and Books.

I'm still learning about pushing music from my iPhone to my Mac...this must still be done manually.

Let me know if you have any questions! Please try to figure out the answer to my question about pushing photos to my Mac from my iPhone. Thanks!

10.6 is Snow Leopard. 10.6.8 is an update to Snow Leopard. It has nothing do with Lion. Lion is a new OS 10.7.

All 10.6.8 did related to the iCloud was a new App Store that will download 10.7 Lion when it's released next week. Apple NEVER ONCE said that any changes in 10.6.8 update did anything like give you iCloud.

If you want 10.7 Lion, it will come out sometime next week. Pay $29 and download and install it. 4GB download. Totally new OS.

Just a note, most of 10.6.8 was Security patches and fixes for issues in 10.6.7.

I'm well acquainted with this, and while Apple is lumping this as an iCloud service, it's really just you re-downloading apps from the App Store in a more convenient manner. This is a whole different beast from the "full" iCloud service that will eventually sync your personal content that you didn't acquire from Apple.

The second cool feature is if you bust out the dusty iTunes app on your iPhone that I never used to use. Same as above. From what I understand, Apple wasn't allowed by the music industry to let users re-download music they bought. It would seem saner minds have finally prevailed. But still… you are simply re-downloading the music from the iTMS.

As before… stuff you have purchased from Apple and are simply re-downloading it from them.

There's nothing to figure out. There is no feature in iOS 4.3.3 that allows for this, and if there was, it wouldn't have disappeared by upgrading OS X on the desktop. You are either mistaken about what you were doing or lying about what version of iOS you are or were using. Or maybe you jailbroke your iPhone and were using 3rd-party tools to do this. Don't know, don't care. Not going to waste any further time on this. Have a nice day.
