I can't wait until Verizon gets FIOS in the neighborhood. It seems that's the only way to push Comcast into offering higher bandwidth options at a reasonable price in a given market.
Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

"Advertised speed" is 16/2 -- I've never seen anything close to that.

Right now I'm on a cabin far far up in the mountains, using my CDMA2000 USB modem. They claim you can get up to 3.1Mbps with maximum coverage, but I've never come close without using an external antenna.

Their ISPs offer that level of service. Most cable connections run somewhere between 1000Kb/s-15,000Kb/s, most DSL connections run between 768Kb/s-3000Kb/s. Fiber-optic connections are usually upwards of 10,000Kb/s, depending on what level of service you buy.

You inferred earlier that your speed rating had something to do with your AirPort Extreme. Keep in mind that your Internet connection speed and the speed of your wireless and/or wired LAN are different things. We are measuring ISP speed here.

Holy crap, I think I have the fastest internet here, lol... Comcast cable, advertised 6/1.5... I think I'm getting my money's worth! I also think I'm the only person in probably a 2 mile radius with cable internet... it's only been in my area about 10 months. I could probably get a better result by turning off the TV, too...
