Hi all,

I have an iBook G4 running on OS X 10.3 Panther.
The internal dialup modem seems to work, but there is no modem sound when dialling. Anyone have this problem as well?

They're's not always a dial up sound. Assuming your using the ibooks internal modem...I don't think I have ever heard the connection sound when I used netzero.

You can change the option to either on or off in your System Preferences under Network.

I have the very last ibook 1.33Ghz. Every once in a while I get no modem dialing sounds (I rarely use the modem but sometimes have to). What always worked for me it tap the volume up key (F6 I believe) one click up and the modem dialing sound appears. This only happens once in a while but that always gets it working. If yours it enabled like the pic DB showed you and still does not let you hear the sound, try what I suggested. Happened to me yesterday at a friends.
