I'll play.

Can you resolve the name?

Applications -> Utilities -> terminal

nslookup www.yfzcentral.com

I'd also be curious about your MTU settings

From that same window:

ifconfig | grep mtu

Finally, this URL (via IP)

http://38.119.120.203

I looked at the site, albeit gingerly at first, and it seems to be legit. Cool racing machines!

Try this:

http://www.ntcompatible.com/thread27784-1.html

I found it googling on:

linksys router site inaccessible

The link is old and doesn't address the N version. However, it's been my experience that some problems with "new" equipment also existed in old equipment.

Personally I'd try setting the MTU to 1300 as suggested toward the bottom of the page. Write down the original value, set to 1300, and see what that does. If it does nothing, reset to the original.

Good luck!

Yup.

Try the MTU fix as described above.

Harumph. And I was looking *so* forward to the $10. ;D

You've been here for a little while, but it might be worth offering you a bit of insight. The people around here really do work as a community, trying to help each other. Money's fine and all, but that's not what makes this place work (network services for the forum notwithstanding of course - INET Interactive *is* a commercial concern). The quality of the responses isn't likely to change as a function of monetary payment.

Ask for a little help and you've got a 16,000+ member community who can know of your problem. (I grew up in a town 1/5 that size, and I can assure you they weren't an overall technical bunch.) If someone has a solution here, you'll likely know of it. If no one has a solution, sometimes people will try to help you find the answer. All it takes is a little civility. If sometime you can help someone else, all the better!

Good luck.

i just bought a dlink draft N router, and i returned it. it wouldn't let me get on ANYTHING that had to do with microsoft (microsoft.com, msn.com, xbox.com, nothing.). not that not being able to go to the micro$soft website is a bad thing...the only hitch is that i am running windows xp at the moment >_>.

in a nutshell: i think it is the wireless N, i swear it is. i unhooked the new router and put in my old dlink g router, and in not even a minute i was given access to those sites again. it's really wierd. maybe it's the windows servers, cause it let me on a bunch of sites that were run on linux/unix based servers.

I know how to fix the problem in less than 5 minutes... only changing 2 settings.

However, I will not give up this info for less than. $30 via PayPal.

Ok... fine... $25. THAT is as low as I go.
