    Specs:
Macbook Pro 2.16 Ghz C2D, 2 Gigs RAM and Macbook 2 Ghz CD 1 Gig RAM
    Networking attached USB drive..
I have an iMac G3 with an attached 160 GB USB HDD. No matter what I have tried, I can not get the other computers on my network to recognize this drive. I need to be able to mount this on other computers to access files, which was one of the main reasons for getting this older mac. I have clicked get info and gone to ownership and permissions, but all it says is that I can read and write. Is there any way to make this drive recognizable on my network? Thanks!

    G'day rift0065,

Have a read through this thread. SharePoints seems to be worth a look.

Agreed. I tried SharePoints here on my Imac with external USB2 and Firewire drives and they all now show up on my windows XP systems.

    Thanks, that worked perfectly!

BUT... I have another question.. I have a printer attached to this iMac that I am trying to share. When I first got the computer it worked perfectly, but I have since reinstalled Panther to remove all remnants of the former owner. Now when I try to share the printer, no other computers can see it. It doesn't show up in the add printer area of system preferences. The iMac can see the printer if it is connected to the other computers, but not the other way around. I am running Panther on the iMac and Tiger on the other computers. Printer sharing is on and "share this printer with other computers" is checked in system preferences. What else could I be missing?
